March 2011, Member Update

( ...back to about section )
Dear UPA members and friends,

The Delaware Valley Chapter of the Usability Professionals' Association has been developing some new program ideas for 2011/2012, and we are excited to share them with you!

This year, in addition to an ongoing commitment to networking and professional development, we are adding business advocacy as a core issue area. Our goal with this addition is to support and advocate for our members doing UX related business in the region.

PROGRAMS AND EVENTS
As many of you know, the Delaware Valley UPA has enjoyed long standing success as regional host of the annual World Usability Day. We intend to build upon this success, developing programs and events to further support, engage, and enrich our membership. Programs such as…

  1. UX Business Leaders Panel, interactive discussion with area UX business leaders
  2. Networking on Demand, program matching participants to network over lunch/coffee
  3. World Usability Day, 2011 speaker event themed “Education: Designing for Social Change”
  4. UX Awards Dinner, annual event honoring volunteers, partners and recognizing regional work
  5. Mentorship Program, matches professionals just getting started with seasoned leaders
